Main Ingredients

  • 2 whole firm bananas Lady Finger bananas work well
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Prevents browning and adds flavor
  • to taste Spray oil
  • a pinch Salt For seasoning

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius).
  • Slice the bananas into thin slices.
  • In a small bowl, coat the banana slices with lemon juice and sprinkle lightly with salt.
  • Spray the banana slices with oil, flip them, and repeat the oiling process.
  • Place the banana slices in a single layer on the base of the air fryer basket.

Cooking

  • Place the basket into the air fryer and cook the banana chips for 40 minutes.
  • Check halfway through and loosen the bananas from the base of the basket if needed.
  • Continue to cook until done.
  • Remove the chips from the air fryer and place them on a cooling rack.
  • Repeat the cooking process with the remaining banana slices.

Notes

Store cooled banana chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They maintain the best crunch if consumed within a few days. Refrigeration can extend shelf life but may affect crispness. Try topping them with peanut butter or yogurt, and they can also be added to salads or trail mixes.
