Ingredients

For the Churro Dough

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

For Air Frying

  • Oil spray

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the flour and salt to the boiling mixture, stirring continuously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to ensure the dough is smooth and consistent.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and using a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, pipe small rounds of dough onto the parchment paper. Lightly spray the dough rounds with oil.

Cooking

  • Air fry the churro bites for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  • While the churro bites are cooking, mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
  • Once the churro bites are done, immediately roll them in the warm cinnamon sugar to coat.

Serving

  • Serve Air Fryer Churro Bites while they’re still warm for the best experience.

Notes

Store leftover churro bites in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 2 months. To reheat, use the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes. Consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt for a sweet-savory twist.
