Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 2 slices slices of thick bread (sourdough or sandwich bread) Use thick bread to hold the egg and cheese better.
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese for new flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley or chives Can be used for garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F.
  • Lightly butter one side of the bread and press a well into the center.
  • Crack one egg into each bread slice.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese around the edges or over the whites.

Cooking

  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes, until the whites are set and cheese is melted.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve your Air Fryer Egg and Cheese Toast right after cooking for the best taste. It's great on its own or with a side of fresh fruit, salad, or crispy bacon. If you have leftovers, let the toast cool to room temperature and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer or toaster for a few minutes before serving. Variations include adding cooked bacon, ham, or sausages for a heartier meal, or sprinkling red pepper flakes on top for a spicy kick.
