Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add the ground Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Sauté the finely chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent, then add the minced garlic for an additional minute.
  • Add the chicken broth and water, then stir in the Alfredo sauce. Mix well.

Cooking

  • Bring the mixture to a boil and toss in the broken lasagna noodles, dried basil, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Reduce to a simmer and let bubble for about 8-10 minutes, or until the noodles are al dente.
  • Stir in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until melted.
  • Add dollops of ricotta cheese on top and let sit for a few minutes.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes
