Ingredients
  

Cake and Fruit Layers

  • 1 piece angel food cake Prepared according to package directions
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) Use fresh berries for best flavor

Cream Layers

  • 1 cup whipped cream Homemade or store-bought
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding Use premade for convenience or make from scratch

Garnish

  • a few leaves fresh mint leaves For garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the angel food cake according to package directions and let it cool.
  • Cut the cake into cubes.

Assembly

  • In a trifle dish, layer half of the cake cubes.
  • Follow the cake with half of the mixed berries, half of the vanilla pudding, and half of the whipped cream.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  • Garnish with mint leaves.

Chilling

  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Best served chilled. Can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, but is best enjoyed within a day of making. Use fresh berries for the best flavor. For added flavor, drizzle jam or syrup between layers. Can substitute with other fruits like peaches or bananas, or use different pudding flavors.
