  • 4 cups bread, cubed Stale bread works best as it holds up well.
  • 2 pieces apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped Can be substituted with walnuts or omitted.
  • 4 pieces eggs
  • 1 cup milk Can use almond or oat milk for dairy-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Can substitute with white granulated sugar.
  • 1 tablespoon butter for greasing Generously grease the muffin tin.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin with butter.
  • In a large bowl, combine bread, diced apples, and chopped pecans; stir well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Pour egg mixture over bread mixture; stir gently to combine without overmixing.
  • Spoon the mixture into the greased muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until tops are golden and centers are set.
  • Cool slightly before removing from muffin tin to firm up.

Serving

  • Serve warm, optionally drizzling with maple syrup or whipped cream.

Notes

For additional flavor, mix different types of bread or add chocolate chips.
