Ingredients
  

Bagel Filling

  • 7 oz cream cheese, room temperature Make sure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 5 oz cooked bacon, diced Reserve some for garnish.
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tsp hot sauce Adjust according to your spice preference.
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped chives Use fresh for better flavor.

Bagels

  • 4 large sesame bagels Any type of bagel can be used.

Preparation

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, mayonnaise, sour cream, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth. Reserve some bacon and chives for garnish.
  • Prepare bagels by slicing a thin layer off the base and then hollowing them out carefully.

Baking

  • Stuff the bagels with the filling and place them on a baking tray.
  • Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 12-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Garnish with reserved bacon and chives, then serve immediately.

Notes

Bacon Cream Cheese Bagels are best served warm. You can slice them in halves or quarters for easy sharing. Pair them with fresh fruit or a light salad. A nice cup of coffee or tea complements this dish well.
