Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish, spaced slightly apart.
  • Top each chicken breast evenly with marinara sauce.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Baking

  • Place the dish in the preheated oven, uncovered, and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Check that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit and that the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For added elegance, finish with a sprinkle of fresh basil or parsley before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
