Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus extra for cooking
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional) for a fresh touch

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil—just enough to coat the bottom of the pan.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides, then place them in the hot skillet.

Cooking

  • Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  • Pour the balsamic mixture over the chicken in the skillet and let it simmer for a few minutes to thicken slightly and caramelize.
  • Once the sauce has thickened and the chicken is well-coated, remove from heat.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken drizzled with the balsamic reduction, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken in the balsamic mixture overnight for deeper flavor. For a thicker sauce, let it reduce longer in the skillet.
