  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 4 pieces ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts optional
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • to taste Whipped cream for serving

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large baking dish, layer the sliced bananas, crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries, and shredded coconut.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the fruit layers.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, ensuring it covers as much of the mix as possible.
  • Pour the chocolate syrup evenly over the top. If using, sprinkle chopped walnuts over everything.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving with whipped cream.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream on top. You can sprinkle extra chocolate syrup or nuts for added flavor. To store, cover and refrigerate for 3-5 days or freeze for freshness.
