  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed Can substitute with light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Can swap for flavored chocolate mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks Optional ingredient

Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a large bowl using a microwave or double boiler.
  • Add dark brown sugar and granulated sugar to the melted butter and whisk until mixed well.
  • Whisk in room temperature eggs and vanilla extract until blended smoothly.
  • Incorporate flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda into the wet mixture. Optionally, fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a prepared baking dish.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Check the brownies with a skewer; it should come out clean with a few wet crumbs.
  • Allow to cool in the baking dish for 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Serve fresh out of the oven or with toppings like ice cream, melted chocolate, or chopped nuts.

Notes
