Ingredients
  

Blueberry Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen) For adding flavor and sweetness
  • ½ cup sugar Adjust based on taste preference
  • 1 cup water For making the simple syrup
  • Peels of 2-3 lemons lemon peels (optional) Enhances flavor of the syrup

Lemonade Base

  • Juice of 4-5 lemons juice of 4-5 lemons About ¾ cup juice
  • 4 cups water For mixing with syrup to make lemonade
  • Mint, lemon peels, and slices, blueberries to taste mint, lemon peels, and slices, blueberries for garnish (optional) For serving presentation

Preparation

  • Peel and juice 4-5 lemons.
  • In a saucepan, combine half the lemon peels, blueberries, sugar, and water. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the blueberries pop, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  • Strain the syrup using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove berries and lemon peels.

Mixing Lemonade

  • Add the blueberry simple syrup to a large pitcher. Mix in 4 cups of cold water.
  • Chill the mixture in the fridge.

Serving

  • Serve Blueberry Lemonade in tall glasses over ice.
  • Add optional garnishes like mint leaves, blueberries, and lemon slices.

Notes

Store leftover Blueberry Lemonade in the refrigerator in a sealed pitcher. Best consumed within 3-4 days. Stir if separation occurs. For a sparkling version, replace some water with club soda or tonic water.
