Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package 16 oz package little smokies sausages
  • 1 lb thin cut bacon, each slice cut into three
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • Freshly grated black pepper, to taste Optional seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Grease a baking dish or sheet pan with nonstick spray and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Pat the little smokies dry with a paper towel.
  • Wrap each sausage with a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
  • Add the brown sugar to a large zip-top bag.
  • Place a few of the bacon-wrapped sausages in the bag and shake to coat them with brown sugar.
  • Remove the sausages from the bag and place them on the prepared pan.
  • Repeat the shaking and placing with the remaining sausages.
  • If desired, season the sausages with black pepper.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven until the bacon has browned, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  • For crispier bacon, broil the sausages for a few minutes to get them golden brown. Enjoy!

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding some chili powder or garlic powder to the brown sugar before coating the sausages. Make sure to pat the sausages dry so the bacon sticks better. You can also use turkey bacon for a lighter version of this recipe. If you have leftovers, let them cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore their delicious crispiness.
