Ingredients

For the Spice Blend

  • 1.5 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

For the Potatoes

  • 2-3 medium potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)

For the Main Filling

  • 500 grams lean beef mince
  • 1 cup lettuce (shredded)
  • 1 cup cheese (dairy-free or regular)
  • 1/2 cup pickle slices

For the Burger Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice (from the jar of pickles)
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mix the Spice Blend: Combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and cut the potatoes into chips (about 1/4 inch thick). Pat them dry with paper towels. Toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and half of the spice mix in a large bowl.

Cooking

  • Bake the Potatoes: Spread the potatoes on a baking tray and bake at 200°C (390°F) for 30–40 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  • Cook the Beef Mince: Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince and brown thoroughly for about 5–7 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining spice mix and cook until the meat is well seasoned.
  • Prepare the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Assembly

  • Assemble the Burger Bowls: Distribute the crispy potatoes among bowls. Top with shredded lettuce, seasoned beef mince, cheese slices, and pickles. Drizzle with burger sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftover burger bowls in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days. To retain the crispiness, keep the beef and sauce separate from the potatoes and lettuce.
