Ingredients
  

Cookie Base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened) Make sure the butter is softened for better texture.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Use less salt if using salted butter.

Add-ins

  • 1 cup toasted pecans (coarsely chopped) Toast pecans until fragrant.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Toast the pecans on a baking sheet for about 8-10 minutes until fragrant.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the toasted pecans gently.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto lined baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool on racks before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh from the oven, paired with a glass of milk or coffee. To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze for up to three months.
