  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed tightly.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds depth of flavor.

For Topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Can use dark chocolate for a richer taste.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Toasted for extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbling.
  • Allow the mixture to boil for 3-4 minutes without stirring until it reaches a rich caramel hue.
  • Pour the toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until edges are golden brown.

Topping

  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top to melt, then spread evenly.
  • Top with chopped pecans and sprinkle a pinch of salt.

Cooling

  • Allow the mixture to cool completely on the countertop before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Best served at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Avoid reheating in the microwave for best texture.
