  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until it shimmers.
  • Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  • Add the sliced sausages to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes until they are browned and slightly crisp.
  • Stir in the chopped cabbage and season liberally with salt, pepper, and any optional ingredients you'd like to add.
  • Cover the skillet and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage wilts down and becomes tender.
  • Once the cabbage is tender, serve the dish hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. For freezing, cool completely and store in freezer-safe bags for 2-3 months.
