Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 2 pieces carrots, julienned
  • 1 piece bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 teaspoons of sesame oil over medium-high heat (about 375°F). Allow the oil to shimmer but not smoke.
  • Add both the ground beef and pork, cooking until browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to break up the meat with a spatula as it cooks so it browns evenly.
  • Stir in minced garlic and ginger, continuing to cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped cabbage, julienned carrots, and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet still crisp.
  • Mix in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything until well combined and heated through, about 2 minutes.
  • Serve the Cabbage Stir Fry warm over a bed of noodles or rice.
