Salad Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup mozzarella balls
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 8 ounces pasta (such as fusilli or penne)
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze Add before serving
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste olive oil (optional) Drizzle after cooking pasta to prevent sticking

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • Boil a large pot of salted water over medium-high heat. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until it's al dente. Drain well, then let it cool completely.

Combining Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, add the halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and fresh basil leaves.
  • Once the pasta has cooled, gently fold it into the bowl with the other ingredients.

Dressing and Serving

  • Drizzle the salad with balsamic glaze and olive oil if using. Season with salt and pepper, and toss everything together gently.
  • Serve immediately, or cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavors.

Notes

This salad can be made up to a day in advance; just add balsamic glaze just before serving to avoid sogginess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
