  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce for drizzling

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, incorporating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the cream cheese and vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.

Baking

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Drizzle some caramel sauce over it, then pour the remaining batter on top.
  • Swirl a bit more caramel on top.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter and cream cheese are softened to room temperature. Don’t overmix the batter; stir just until combined. For variations, consider adding spices or substituting caramel with chocolate sauce.
