  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Toppings

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • to taste toppings of choice (pepperoni, vegetables, etc.) Customize based on personal preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Stir in the warm water and olive oil until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased cast iron skillet, pressing it out to the edges.
  • Let it rise for 30 minutes, covered.

Baking

  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the crust.
  • Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and desired toppings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve hot and fresh from the oven for best taste. Pair with a garden salad or garlic knots.
