Toppings

  • 1 cup Crispy onions or crushed tortilla chips For added crunch on top.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add diced onions and minced garlic; cook until fragrant.
  • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.

Cooking

  • Stir in tomato sauce and beans along with seasonings such as chili powder, cumin, and paprika.
  • Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.

Assembly and Baking

  • Spread the meat mixture into a casserole dish.
  • Layer with shredded cheese and top with crispy onions or chips.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 25-30 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven to maintain texture.
