  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar, mozzarella) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan thoroughly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, and egg until fully combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Slice and serve warm. Pairs well with soups and salads. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
