  • 2 pounds frozen shredded hash browns
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Plus more for greasing the baking dish
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion (optional)

Topping Ingredients

  • 2 cups Corn Flakes

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, melted butter, and onion (if using). Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the Corn Flakes with a little melted butter and sprinkle the mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.

Baking

  • Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
