Ingredients
  

For the Ramen

  • 3 packets instant ramen noodles, chicken or beef Any brand of instant ramen works.
  • 1 packet ramen flavoring (from one of the packets) Keep this aside for the cheesy mix.
  • 1 cup reserved pasta water May not need the entire cup.
  • 3/4 cup 2 percent milk Any milk can be used.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp butter Use unsalted for a milder flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese Use more for topping if desired.
  • 1 Tbsp grated parmesan For garnish.
  • 3 Tbsp green onions, chopped For garnish.

Preparation

  • Start boiling water for the ramen and cook according to package instructions, keeping one flavor packet aside.
  • Once the ramen noodles are al dente, reserve one cup of pasta water and drain the rest. Set the noodles aside.

Cooking

  • In the same pot, reduce the heat to low and add butter until melted.
  • Add milk and shredded cheese, then mix in the garlic powder and the reserved ramen flavor packet, stirring until smooth.
  • Add the cooked ramen noodles to the cheesy mixture, gently folding to coat evenly. Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water as needed.
  • Serve warm, garnished with green onions and grated parmesan.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese for unique flavors. Add protein or vegetables for a more filling meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
