Ingredients
  

Crust

  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened Make sure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed About 3 cups.
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar, and melted butter. Press this mixture onto the bottom of a greased 8-inch square pan.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of confectioners' sugar until smooth. Fold in the thawed whipped topping until well combined.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crust evenly. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top.
  • Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.

Notes

To serve, cut the dessert into squares and place them on individual plates. Add a dollop of whipped topping on each piece for an extra touch. Store any leftover dessert in the refrigerator, covered tightly with plastic wrap or foil, for up to three days. Avoid freezing to maintain texture.
