  • 3 large eggs Use room temperature for smoother filling
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon Can be omitted for an alcohol-free version
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavors
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish, ensuring it's even along the edges.
  • In a large bowl, combine the corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, eggs, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
  • Gently stir in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution.
  • Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and tap the pie dish lightly to remove air bubbles.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until set and slightly puffed. A knife inserted should come out clean.
  • Let the pie cool before serving to allow the filling to set properly.

Notes

To store leftovers, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
