  • 4 cups mini marshmallows Feel free to use a mix of regular and colored marshmallows.

  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles Choose your favorite shapes and colors.
  • optional white chocolate (for drizzling) Melted white chocolate adds sweetness.

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  • Once the butter is melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the crispy rice cereal. Stir until well-coated in the marshmallow mixture.
  • Press the mixture into a greased 9x9 inch pan, smoothing the top with a spatula or dampened hands.
  • Cut into squares or shape into balls after the treats have set, and decorate with sprinkles or drizzled white chocolate.
  • Allow the treats to cool completely before serving or packing them up as gifts.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week; use parchment between layers. Freezing is also an option—cut, wrap, and store in a freezer-safe bag.
