Ingredients
  

For the danishes

  • 2 packages 12.4 ounce packages cinnamon rolls
  • 1 package 8 ounce cream cheese, full fat, softened Make sure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • 2/3 cup sugar Adjust the amount for a less sweet version.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 can 21 ounce cherry pie filling Be generous with the filling for more flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven according to the cinnamon roll package directions, typically to 400 degrees F.
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Unroll the cinnamon rolls and place them an inch apart on the sheet pan.
  • Using the back of a tablespoon measuring spoon, press an indent into the center of each cinnamon roll.
  • In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add a dollop of the cream cheese mixture to each of the cinnamon rolls.
  • Top each roll with a heaping tablespoon of cherry pie filling.

Baking

  • Bake according to the cinnamon roll package directions, typically 9 to 12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 1 minute.
  • Drizzle the icing included in the cinnamon roll package evenly over all the cinnamon rolls.
  • Enjoy immediately.

Notes

These danishes are best served warm. They can be served alone or with a side of fresh fruit or coffee. For storage, keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Reheat before serving.
