Ingredients
  

Cake Batter Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sift for a light and airy texture.
  • 1 cup sugar Balances the cocoa flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Provides deep chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensures a moist cake.
  • 1 cup milk Room temperature works best.
  • 3 pieces eggs Bring to room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Ensure it is fresh.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness.

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla frosting For the vanilla layer.
  • 1 cup strawberry frosting For the fruity layer.

Decoration Ingredients

  • to taste fresh strawberries For decoration.
  • to taste chocolate shavings Use a vegetable peeler on a chocolate bar.

Instructions
 

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy for about 3–5 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Assembly

  • Place one chocolate layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of vanilla frosting.
  • Add the second chocolate layer and spread the strawberry frosting over that.
  • Top with the last chocolate layer.
  • Frost the top and sides of the cake with the vanilla frosting and decorate with fresh strawberries and chocolate shavings.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

Ensure room temperature ingredients for easier mixing. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
