Turkey and Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 piece turkey breast (3-4 pounds) Look for skin-on for extra moisture.
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce Use homemade or your favorite jarred version.
  • 1/2 cup orange juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Adds a delightful sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Use fresh for better flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for maximum flavor.
  • Olive oil for roasting Keeps the turkey moist.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined and let it sit.
  • Rub the turkey breast with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan and brush it generously with the cranberry-orange glaze.
  • Roast in the oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting occasionally with the glaze.
  • Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Serving

  • Once done, let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with a side of remaining glaze.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer, baste often, and allow the turkey to rest after cooking. Leftover turkey is great for sandwiches and pot pies.
