  • 1 cup heavy cream Makes the sauce velvety.
  • ½ cup chicken broth Adds a savory base to the sauce.
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a salty, umami depth to the sauce.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional) For garnish.
  • Red pepper flakes For extra kick of heat.
  • Fresh lemon juice Brightens the dish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and one tablespoon of Cajun seasoning.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
  • Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cooking the Pasta

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
  • Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain and set aside.

Making the Cajun Cream Sauce

  • In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the additional Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika.
  • Then, add the heavy cream and chicken broth.
  • Bring to a simmer and mix in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

Combining Pasta, Chicken, and Sauce

  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, followed by the sliced chicken.
  • Toss everything together until well-coated in the sauce.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes as desired.
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving will enhance the flavors.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the pasta cool completely and then place it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of chicken broth or cream if the sauce thickens too much.
