  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For sautéing.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 package Your favorite Ravioli Cook according to package instructions.

Preparation

  • In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes, until the onion turns translucent and slightly golden.
  • Add canned or fresh tomatoes, breaking them down with a wooden spoon or spatula. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes have broken down and created a beautiful, chunky sauce.
  • Stir in the cream, mixing well, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon.
  • Meanwhile, cook ravioli according to package instructions. Typically, this will take about 4-6 minutes in boiling salted water until they float and are tender to the bite.
  • Once the ravioli is cooked, combine them with the sauce in the pan, mixing gently to coat the pasta evenly without breaking it. Allow it to sit on low heat for an additional 1-2 minutes to meld the flavors together.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or grated cheese if desired.

Notes

Store any remaining sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, consider freezing your Creamy Ravioli Sauce in a freezer-safe container for up to 2-3 months.
