  • 8 oz pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving

  • Parmesan cheese, grated for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Preparation

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water. Drain and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the diced tomatoes (with juice) and stir to combine. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring well. Add dried basil, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Let the sauce simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Notes

Adjust the seasoning based on your taste; you can add more herbs or spices if you like. For added protein, consider stirring in cooked chicken or shrimp.
