Ingredients
  

For the churro dough

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the coating

  • 1/2 cup sugar For coating the churro bites
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon For coating the churro bites

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
  • Stir in the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Add vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  • Transfer the dough to a piping bag with a star tip.

Cooking

  • Pipe small bites onto a parchment-lined air fryer basket.
  • Spray the churro bites lightly with oil.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

Coating

  • In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon for coating.
  • Toss the warm churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, dusted with cinnamon-sugar. Pair with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping. Store leftover churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for about a week.
