Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium head cabbage Chopped into large pieces
  • 1 medium onion Chopped
  • 3 large cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 14 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 2 10 oz cans condensed tomato soup
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  • Place the ground beef in a skillet and season it with salt and pepper. Brown the beef for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Continue to cook until the meat is no longer pink.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and drain any excess fat from the ground beef.
  • Cut the cabbage into quarters and remove the core. Chop the cabbage into large pieces and rinse well.

Layering and Cooking

  • Place half of the cabbage pieces in the bottom of a crock pot.
  • Layer half of the ground beef over the cabbage. Add a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of black pepper, a teaspoon of garlic powder, and the diced tomatoes.
  • Add the remaining cabbage pieces on top of this layer, followed by the rest of the ground beef.
  • In a small bowl, mix the two cans of condensed tomato soup with 1 cup of water and pour it over everything in the crock pot.
  • Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours, until the cabbage is tender.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding some herbs like thyme or rosemary. If you like a bit of spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture. Make sure to mix the ingredients well in the crock pot for a more even flavor.
