Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In your crockpot, add the butter, chopped onion, minced garlic, minced ginger, and all the spices.
  • Turn on the slow cooker to melt the butter.

Cooking

  • Nestle the chicken thighs into the buttery mixture, coating them well.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce and mix everything together.
  • Cover and set the crockpot to cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • In the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in the heavy cream.
  • Once the chicken is tender, shred it in the pot and mix everything for a creamy texture.

Serving

  • Scoop out the butter chicken over rice or naan and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Notes

Use bone-in thighs for more flavor; adjust spices to taste; don't skimp on cream for decadence.
