Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed Dorito chips
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat once browned.
  • Add the taco seasoning, cream of mushroom soup, and milk to the beef mixture, stirring until well combined.

Layering

  • In a baking dish, layer half of the crushed Dorito chips evenly across the bottom.
  • Pour half of the beef mixture over the chips, then sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining chips, beef mixture, and cheese, making sure to spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, with a light golden color.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, or slices of avocado. Pair with a crisp salad or salsa. Leftovers can be refrigerated or frozen for later use.
