Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup for the meat mixture
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste pepper

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup for glaze
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, ketchup, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce to create the glaze.
  • Spread the glaze over the meatloaf.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the juices run clear.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables or as a sandwich the next day. Leftover meatloaf can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Avoid overmixing the meat mixture to maintain tenderness. For added flavor, consider incorporating chopped vegetables or cheese.
