Ingredients
  

Pasta and Vegetables

  • 200 g pasta (penne or farfalle)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh or frozen

Flavorings

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings

  • Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
  • Lemon juice (optional) For added freshness

Instructions
 

Cooking Pasta and Broccoli

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  • Add broccoli florets to the boiling pasta for the last 3-4 minutes of cooking.
  • Drain and set aside.

Combining Ingredients

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything together, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve warm topped with grated Parmesan cheese and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2-3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove, adding a little olive oil or water to keep it moist. Consider using whole grain or gluten-free pasta for a healthier option.
