Meatloaf Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup ketchup For topping
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar For topping
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and brown sugar for the topping. Spread it over the meatloaf.

Baking

  • Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. A drizzle of extra ketchup can add a nice touch. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
