Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  • Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until evenly blended.
  • Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
  • Add the flour and stir just until it disappears—avoid overmixing.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Using overripe bananas enhances the flavor. Do not overmix the batter, and allow the bread to cool before slicing for better texture.
