For the Margarita

  • 2 cups fresh peach puree Use ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup orange juice Freshly squeezed is preferable.
  • 1 cup lime juice Freshly squeezed lime juice adds the best flavor.
  • 4 cups ice Adjust for desired thickness.
  • 2 ounces tequila (optional) Use quality tequila for best flavor.
  • 1 ounce triple sec (optional) For added sweetness.
  • 1 whole Fresh peaches for garnish For presentation.
  • to taste Salt or sugar for rimming glasses (optional) Enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • In a blender, combine the fresh peach puree, orange juice, lime juice, ice, tequila, and triple sec. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds.
  • If you're rimming your glasses, pour a thin layer of salt or sugar on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rims of your glasses before dipping them into the salt or sugar.
  • Pour the freshly blended margarita mixture into your prepared glasses, filling each about three-quarters full.
  • Garnish each drink with fresh peach slices, arranging them stylishly on the rim or floating them in the cocktail.
  • Serve immediately with a straw or a stirring stick.

Notes

Fresh Peach Margaritas are best enjoyed chilled and immediately after preparation. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To make-ahead, blend the base ingredients (without ice) and store them in the refrigerator.
