Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for best results.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Other cheese options include pepper jack or mozzarella.
  • 1/4 cup garlic butter Use store-bought or homemade garlic butter.
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 package crescent roll dough Ensure the dough is cold before unrolling.

Optional toppings

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Drain excess fat, then stir in the garlic butter, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Roll out the crescent roll dough on a floured surface and cut it into rectangles or squares.
  • Spoon a mixture of the beef and cheese onto each piece of dough, then roll them up tightly.
  • Place the rollups on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm with optional toppings.

Notes

Make sure not to overfill the crescent rolls, as it can make rolling them difficult. You can add diced onions or even bacon bits for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
