Burger Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup pesto Fresh pesto is recommended for best flavor.
  • 4 slices Havarti cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
  • 4 pieces burger buns Toast if desired.
  • 1 piece tomato, sliced Add fresh slices for assembly.
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves Use fresh basil for enhanced flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine ground beef and pesto, mixing well.
  • Shape the mixture into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Grill or pan-fry the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your preference.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Havarti cheese on each patty to melt.
  • Toast the burger buns if desired.

Assembly

  • Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and adding tomato slices and fresh basil.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Make the patties ahead of time and refrigerate them to help them hold their shape while cooking. You can use turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter option. Additionally, try adding avocado or grilled vegetables for more variety.
