  • 4 tablespoons butter Adds richness and flavor.
  • 5-6 cloves garlic, minced Add towards the end to prevent burning.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For seasoning the potatoes.
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs Enhances the steak flavor.
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste Essential seasoning.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) Adds color and freshness.

Preparation

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the halved or quartered baby potatoes, season generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Sauté the potatoes for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and fork-tender. Set aside.

Cooking the Steak

  • Season the sirloin steak cubes with salt, pepper, and dried Italian herbs.
  • In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Increase the heat to medium-high.
  • Once the butter has melted and is bubbling, add the steak cubes in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned but not overcooked.

Finishing Touches

  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the remaining tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the pan.
  • Sauté for about a minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Return the cooked potatoes to the pan and toss everything together. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Serving

  • Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top for garnish and serve hot.

Notes

For the best flavor, pair with a crisp green salad or roasted vegetables. A glass of red wine enhances the dish wonderfully.
