Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 piece fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Water (as needed)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan and score the surface in a diamond pattern.
  • In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar to create the glaze.
  • Brush the glaze generously over the ham, allowing it to seep into the scored areas.
  • Add water to the bottom of the pan to keep the ham moist during cooking.

Cooking

  • Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize.
  • Once done, let the ham rest before slicing and serving.

Notes

Make sure to score the ham carefully for better glaze absorption. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the ham is heated thoroughly and reaches at least 140°F (60°C). Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the glaze by adding more or less brown sugar or honey, according to your taste.
