Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 piece fully cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, mix in the honey until thoroughly blended.
  • Use a basting brush to coat the surface of the ham with the honey-butter mixture.
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with foil. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, until a meat thermometer reads 140°F (60°C) at the thickest part.

Glazing and Baking

  • Meanwhile, combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, ground mustard, and ground cloves in a bowl, mixing until the sugar dissolves.
  • Remove the ham from the oven and discard the foil. Generously brush the glaze over the ham.
  • Return the ham to the oven uncovered, baking for an additional 30 minutes while basting with the glaze every 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This glazed ham is versatile and can be served warm or at room temperature. Pair with classic sides like mashed potatoes or a crisp salad. For additional flavor, garnish with fresh herbs.
