  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use plain Greek yogurt for best flavor.
  • 1 cup self-rising flour Can substitute with regular flour by adding baking powder and salt.
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash) Beaten to brush on bagels.
  • Optional toppings (sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, etc.) Experiment with different toppings for flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt and self-rising flour until a dough forms.
  • Lightly flour a surface and knead the dough for a minute.
  • Divide the dough into four equal pieces and shape each piece into a bagel.
  • Place the bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with optional toppings.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store Greek Yogurt Bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw and toast before serving. For a sweeter version, try adding honey or sugar to the dough.
