  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use full-fat for best results.
  • 1 large egg For the egg wash.

Optional toppings

  • to taste everything bagel seasoning Optional topping.
  • 2 tsp cinnamon Optional for cinnamon bagels.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. If making cinnamon bagels, add 2 tsp of cinnamon.
  • Add the Greek yogurt to the bowl and mix with a spatula until clumps form. Use your hands to fully combine the mixture.
  • Flour a large surface and knead the dough, then divide it into 4 equal pieces.

Shaping

  • Roll each piece into a ball and flatten slightly. Create a hole in the middle using the end of a measuring spoon, or roll into a log and join ends to make a circle. Add flour if the dough is sticky.
  • Place bagels on the prepared baking sheet. Whisk the egg and brush the tops; sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning or cinnamon if desired.

Baking

  • Bake for 22-25 minutes until the tops are light golden brown. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

Store bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Use full-fat Greek yogurt for best flavor and texture.
